Since
reforms and opening to the outside world,Inner Mongolia University has seen
more than 2,100 research projects completed.
Major achievements
in natural sciences include among others "Application of Remote Sensing to
the Investigation of Pasture Resources of Inner Mongolia",one of the key tasks
to be tackled in science and technology approved by the State for the 6th
Five-Year Plan period; "Development and Comprehensive Utilization of Grass
Resources in North China Mountainous Areas", a Spark project approved by the
State. 
"Research
About Burning Rate Modifier for Chemical Propellants", a State-approved project
for the 7th Five-Year Plan
period; "Development and Utilization of the Potato
Virus Detection Techniques", a project approved
by International Potato Center,etc.,as well as the com-
pilation and publication of "Flora of Inner mongolia".

Apart
from this,important results have also been achieved in such research projects
as the turbulent motion theory,partial differential equation,differential
operator and lattice theory and graph theory ,
fundamental particles,elementary excitation of solids as well as bio-
physics.

In
the field of social sciences,Mongolian studies are unique for its own characteristic
