From June16 to18, 2023, the 11th National Conference on Indoor Environmental and Health co-organized by the School of Ecology and Environment(SEE) of IMU was held in Hohhot City. Prof. Yao Maosheng with Peking University acted as chair of the conference. Zhong Nanshan, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering(CAE) and winner of the Medal of the Republic who is with Guangzhou Medical University, acted as the honorary chair. Besides, over 450 experts, scholars and heads of the departments concerned attended the conference. They include Tao Shu, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) who is with Peking University, Jiang Guibin, academician with the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of CAS, Zhao Jincai, academician with the Institute of Chemistry of CAS, Hou Li’an, academician of CAE who is with Rocket Force University of Engineering, Prof. Chen Jianmin, member of European Academy of Sciences who is with Fudan University and Zhuang Qiankun, head of the Chemical Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Liu Yongbin, vice president of IMU, delivered an opening speech. He introduced the development of the disciplines of IMU. During the conference, Liu Zhiyu, secretary of IMU CPC Committee, Wu Limin, president of IMU, Li Yonghong, dean of SEE and Wang Lixin, executive deputy dean of SEE, held discussions with some experts present at the conference. They hoped that the interdisciplinary cooperation can boost the development of the field of indoor environment and health to enhance the discipline of environment science and engineering of IMU.

The theme of the conference is “Interdisciplinary Innovation, One Belt and One Road and Health China”. There are 3 pre-conference reports on training, 10 keynote reports, 15 parallel sessions for special reports, 1 parallel session for excellent articles of students and demonstration of 100 wall papers. The discussions of the conference center on particulate pollution, health and intelligent cities, buildings of green intelligent energy, hospital environment and health, public health and toxicology, indoor environment in rural areas, chemical pollution of indoor air, indoor and outdoor environment of buildings and human health, thermal comfort, biological aerosol and theories and strategies to prevent it. This conference is another grand meeting on indoor environment and health which provides a platform for the experts and scholars in the field to exchange ideas with each other and demonstrate their achievements and further boost the rapid development in the field. This conference is an action of science and technology to put into practice the appeal of the CPC Central Committee to build Inner Mongolia into an ecological shield.
