The latest achievements of the research of Cao Yu, a young teacher from the Law School of IMU reprinted in full text by Xinhua Digest, an authoritative journal

Recently an academic thesis The Response of Mineral Resources Law to the Accomplishment of the Dual Carbon Target written by Cao Yu, a young teacher from the Law School of IMU and published in China Population Resources and Environment (The Fourth Issue of 2022), an authoritative journal, has been reprinted in full text by Xinhua Digest Digital Version in its first issue of 2023 as a cover thesis.

China Population Resources and Environment is ranked as an AMI journal, a CSSCI journal and a core journal of Beijing University.

As a large theoretical, comprehensive and informative journal for digests with authoritative prestige, Xinhua Digest is not only well-known both at home and abroad for being thought-provoking, academic, authoritative and readable, but also a platform for readers to learn extensively and grasp intensively latest information in theories of philosophies and social sciences and is regarded as the most influential journal for digests for philosophy and social sciences in China.

 

The accomplishment of the dual carbon target is the requirement of the new era of the perfection of the Mineral Resources Law. At the historic juncture of revision, it is necessary and mandatory for the Mineral Resources Law, the basic law for the development, exploitation and preservation of mineral resources in China, to provide strong legal support for the accomplishment of the dual carbon target. Against the backdrop of the times to accomplish the dual carbon target and taking the historic moment of the revision of the Mineral Resources Law as an opportunity, the thesis attempts to follow the route of legislation theory to describe the response of the Mineral Resources Law to the accomplishment of the dual carbon target from the perspectives of legislation concept, the survey and exploitation of mineral resources and ecological rehabilitation of mining areas.

The research is sponsored by the Program of Young Talents in Science and Technology in Colleges and Universities of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the Program of Young Talents of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Grassland Project of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Cao Yu is the director and an associate professor of the Center of Natural Resources Law of the Law School of IMU. Cao specializes mainly in the teaching and scientific research in mineral resources law, environment resources law and civil and commercial law. Since he started service at IMU in 2016, Cao has published 3 monographs and presided over 8 projects sponsored by the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Justice and China Law Society, 2 of which are key projects, and has published more than 10 theses in such important academic journals as Journal of Renmin University of China, China Population Resources and Environment, Tribune of Political Science and Law and China Land Sciences.
