The team of Research Fellow Liu Rui from the College of Computer Science (College of Software) at IMU, in collaboration with Prof. Björn W. Schuller and the renowned scholars in the field of emotion computing, from Imperial College London (IEEE Fellow) and Prof. Haizhou Li from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) (IEEE Fellow), proposed a novel Modality-Invariant Feature Acquisition network based on commonality contrast learning, significantly improving the robustness and accuracy of multimodal emotion recognition under missing modalities. The article “Contrastive Learning based Modality-Invariant Feature Acquisition for Robust Multimodal Emotion Recognition with Missing Modalities” has been accepted and published online by the IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing (IEEE-TAC), a top international journal in the field of emotion computing recommended by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) as a Class A academic journal with an impact factor of 11.2.

The authors include: Research Fellow Liu Rui (the first author), PhD student Zuo Haolin enrolled in 2022 (the first author besides the advisor), Assistant Prof. Lian Zheng from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Björn W. Schuller from Imperial College London, and Prof. Haizhou Li from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), among others.
