UK-based Lajos Hanzo, a top British electronics professor and a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering -- together with Wang Zhaocheng, a leading electronics professor from Tsinghua University -- visited Inner Mongolia University in Hohhot, capital of North China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on May 28.

At a symposium, IMU president Chen Guoqing gave a presentation to the visitors on his university’s course curricula, recruitment program for top-flight staff, inter-school exchanges and cooperation, and innovative training of talent -- and extended them a warm welcome.

Professors Hanzo and Wang in turn talked about the development of electronic information sciences at the University of Southampton and Tsinghua University respectively, and expressed their strong desire to conduct inter-school cooperation and academic exchanges with IMU.

They said they hoped to establish links and exchange opportunities with IMU in the fields of artificial intelligence, modern wireless communications, and new network structures. In addition, they welcomed IMU teachers and students to visit and exchange at University of Southampton and Tsinghua University.

After the discussions, Professor Lajos Hanzo and Professor Wang Zhaocheng gave academic reports.

They briefed IMU teachers and students on the exploration and applications of machine learning in future 5G and 6G mobile communications, as well as presenting some research results on 5G millimeter wave communications. They also discussed and exchanged ideas with attendee teachers and students.
