In the afternoon on July 13, IMU organized a special meeting to coordinate the efforts of the Key Laboratory of Herbage & Endemic Crop Biology to prepare for the appraisal by the Ministry of Education in the Ministry’s appraisal of key laboratories in 2021. Gao Guanglai, vice president of IMU, Niu Yiding and Liu Qifeng, director and vice director of the Division of Science and Technology, Wang Xiao, vice dean of the School of Life Sciences, Prof. Qi Zhi and Prof. Hada, director and vice director of the Key Laboratory of Herbage & Endemic Crop Biology of the Ministry of Education and Prof. Lin Xiaofei attended the meeting.

Vice president Gao Guanglai emphatically pointed out that the construction level of the Key Laboratory of Herbage & Endemic Crop Biology of the Ministry of Education played an essential role of support in IMU’s endeavors in building and developing a Double First-class university, and that the School of Life Sciences and the Laboratory should attach great importance to the appraisal, accomplish the assignments with superb quality in strict compliance with the requirements and prescribed deadlines to strive for a satisfactory result in the appraisal. He also summarized at great length the landmark achievements of the laboratory on the basis of the present direction of research and major achievements of the laboratory. Director Niu Yiding emphasized the great significance of the appraisal for the construction and development of the laboratory, pointed out the key role of a high-quality self-appraisal report on the basis of the crystallization of the present research efforts, and concluded by expressing sincere thanks to entire faculty of the laboratory for their assiduous work for the construction and development of the laboratory and the preparations for the appraisal. Wang Xiao, vice dean of the School of Life Sciences, remarked that the School would spare no efforts to facilitate preparations for the appraisal of the Laboratory and provide guarantee for a satisfactory result of the appraisal. Qi Zhi, director of the Laboratory, gave a brief report on the present preparations of materials and division of responsibilities within the Laboratory for the appraisal and stated that the entire faculty members of the Laboratory would make concerted efforts to overcome difficulties and make utmost endeavors for the coming appraisal.
Also at the meeting, arrangements were made for self-examination of the construction of the State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Regulation & Breeding of Grassland Livestock.
