Professor Li Guangpeng of IMU, who Returned After Studying Abroad, was Awarded the Second Prize of National Medal of Technology in the Year of 2016.

Participating in the project of “Efficient Cloning technology of Cattle and Sheep”held by Zhang yong, professor of Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University,Professor Li Guangpeng was awarded the second prize of National Medal of Technology in the year of 2016.On January 9th, ,he was commended at the General assembly of National Science and Technology. It is the first time for our school to obtain this award, which is a breakthrough in the history of our school.

Through the research and application, professor Li invented the technologies improving the development ability of cloned embryos and exact editing of bovine and somatic cell genes, which played an important role in germplasm innovation of sheep and cattle and seed breeding level.
