IMU Asso. Prof. Dong Alideertu Publishes a Paper in Chemical Reviews

Dong Alideertu (the first author and the corresponding author), an associate professor from the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at IMU, published a review paper entitled “Chemical Insight into Antibacterial N-Halamines” http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/acs.chemrev.6b00687in Chemical Review, the most prestigious journal (IF: 37.369 in 2016) published by American Chemical Society (ACS) in 1924. The co-authors are Prof. Yan-Jie Wang from Columbia University in Canada, and Prof. Gao Ge from Jilin University in China.

The spread of pathogenic microorganisms has become a hot issue concerning human health, economic development and social stability all over the world. Thus, the development and application of antibacterial materials have become one of the hot topics in the field of scientific research and production so as to prevent infectious diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms. Because of the unique properties, N-Halamine compounds with antibacterial activity have always been highly valued. With such advantages as efficient sterilization, storage stability, regeneration and low cost, N-Halamine antibacterial materials are widely used in medical instruments, public health, water purification systems, food packaging and preservation and other fields.

Dong’s work was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Natural Science Foundation of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and IMU Advanced Talent Introduction Project.

Dong Alideertu, an assistant professor and postgraduate supervisor of College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at IMU, received his Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry and Physics at Jilin University in 2012. His research focuses on the investigation of N-Halamine antibacterial nanomaterials.
