In December 2016, Government Procurement Center of IMAR started a bidding for purchases for Chinese translation of Japanese Archives (IMAR document number (electronic):【2016】25828). After the fierce competition in the bidding process, Yu Weihong’s translation group of IMU gained the bid (project number is NZC2016-C99-72) and the budget fund is 400,000 RMB. It is the first research program acquired from government procurement by IMU, which has a positive effect on social service and discipline development in foreign language teaching and research.

Archives are authentic, genuine and documentary. Due to their irreplaceable value, archives are the first hand historical material to study history and realistic problems. The document involved in “Japanese-Chinese Translation of Archives” Project is the authentic files recording what Japanese did from 1931 to 1945 in Inner Mongolia and northeast China. Much of the document has never been open to the public before. Thus, the project has both difficulties and significance. On the one hand, the ability to interpreting original text and a deep understanding of history at that time are indispensable. On the other hand, it is of great importance in revealing Japanese aggression against China and promoting the study of modern history in Inner Mongolia and even in China and East Asia.
