Recently, Austrian Stefan Krist, PhD, a researcher especially invited to be resident at the Center for Mongolian Studies of Inner Mongolia University (IMU), was recently chosen to be a top member of an international research group, according to IMU officials.
They announced on May 9 that Kirst has been appointed a leading member of the executive committee of a world traditional sports competition research group.
The research group is a newly formed international senior research team affiliated to the World Ethnosport Confederation.
It has mainly been tasked by the education committee of the confederation to collect, record and study all kinds of traditional sports and their competitive activities from all the nationalities of the world -- and to compile an encyclopedia of traditional sports of the world.
Dr. Stefan Krist was invited to attend the 3rd International Ethnosport Forum in Antalya in Turkey on Feb 22-23. During the meeting, he presided over the discussion of a branch meeting and exchanged his research results.
On April 22, A. Halim Aksu, Secretary General of the World Ethnosport Confederation, made the Austrian an offer. He invited Krist to join the executive committee of the confederation’s research committee into the world sport economy -- and to participate in preparations to create the new research group.
Last week, Krist participated in the first video conference for the executive committee, which discussed and determined a further work plan.
It decided to hold another video conference on June 1.
