On June 20, 2020, the conference on the further research of the key project from National Social Science Fund-“ The Centenary History of the Epic Study in China”---was simultaneously held on Tencent online meeting platform and in the meeting room of the School of Literature and Journalism on the south campus of Inner Mongolia University. Present at the conference were Chogjin, research fellow with the Ethnic Literature Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(CASS), Professor Wen Rihuan with Minzu University of China, Tang Xiaoqing, research fellow with the Ethnic Literature Institute of CASS, Professor Jagar and Professor Ochi from Inner Mongolia Normal University and Professor Li Xiaofeng from Dalian Nationalities University. Also present at the conference were Professor Wei Yongui, dean of the school and Professor Feng Wenkai, chief expert of the project, those in charge of the sub-projects, young teachers and doctoral candidates. Professor Wei Yonggui presided over the conference.
Conference Venue
At the conference Professor Feng Wenkai gave a general report about how the project research plan had been carried out to those experts present at the conference. Then Professor Wei Yonggui, dean of the school, Gao Hehong, research fellow from the Ethnic Literature Institute of CASS, doctoral candidate Chen Yuntao from the school, Yang Jian from Foreign Languages College of IMU reported their research plans for five sub-projects they are respectively in charge of and how their plans had been conducted.
Expert Evaluation
Six experts who attended the conference unanimously affirmed the great achievements that the project team had made in the past two years and gave their revelatory suggestions on the collection of materials, definition of the research scope, generation and innovation of theories and construction of the data bank, which are conducive for the smooth development of the ensuing research of the project team.

The conference clarified how the project team should carry out its ensuing research, completely solved the puzzle that the team members were facing in the data collection and the further study of theories, and set a solid foundation for the fulfillment of the expected research target.
“The Centenary History of the Epic Study in China ” is the fourth key project that the School of Literature and Journalism has won from the National Social Sciences Fund,which marks the new progress the school has made and its expanded academic influence. Of the four key projects the school has won from the National Social Sciences Fund, the first three are carried out as planned and two projects won in 2016 respectively won the further funding of RMB800,000 and RMB600,000 in 2018. The situation has come into being that the scientific research of the school drives its discipline improvement and improves its academic strength.
