China’s first minority-language speaking AI synthesized anchor makes his debut

One years endeavor by the Mongolian AI Media Technology Joint laboratory (sponsored by IMU and Inner Mongolia Daily) and Inner Mongolia Oyun Information Technology Service Co., Ltd. after President Xi Jinpings inspection of Inner Mongolia University has eventually produced Oyun AI synthesized anchor, Chinas first Mongolian-speaking AI anchor. A host of cutting-edge technologies including Mongolian speech synthesis, Mongolian-Chinese machine translation, facial landmark detection, facial feature extraction, facial reconstruction, lip reading and gesture synthesis in combination with modelling training involving voice, image and other multi-modal information have created the true-to-life Mongolian-speaking AI model to enhance efficiency in information expression and transmission.

Once news releases, either in Mongolian or in Chinese, are input into the Oyun AI synthesized anchor system, they are translated into Mongolian-Chinese bilingual news releases through auto-translation devices and further processed into video clips with bilingual subtitles, creating intelligent Mongolian video broadcasting with one push of the button. The successful breakthrough in this technology is of great significance for the intelligent informationzation of the Mongolian language and the development of AI media of Inner Mongolia.
