Kick-off meeting on compiling IMU’s 14th Five-Year Plan held

In the morning of July 14, the kick-off meeting on compiling IMUs 14th Five-Year Plan was held in No. 6 conference room of the IMU Academic Meeting Center. Chen Guoqing, deputy secretary of the IMU CPC Committee (IMUCPCC) and president of IMU, chaired the meeting. Attendees also included Zhu Bingwen, secretary of the IMUCPCC, Li Xiuliang, deputy secretary of the IMUCPCC, Zhang Liping, secretary of the IMU CPC Commission for Discipline Inspection, Zhang Jiwei, vice president of IMU, Erhenbayar, vice president of the university and heads of some departments of IMU.

Meeting

Cheng Guoqing said at the meeting that IMUs 14th Five-Year Plan is one key link determining IMUs development in five years to come and a road-map guiding the universitys development. He had the following demands for the compilation. Firstly, IMUs 13th Five-Year Plan should be carefully reviewed and the evaluation report of the 13th Five-Year Plan further improved and perfected. Secondly, the university should thoroughly integrate in the compilation of IMUs 14th Five-Year Plan Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, fully implement the spirit of the CPC Central Committee General Secretary Xi Jinpings important speech and instructions for Inner Mongolia and the spirit of Xis instructions given while he inspected Inner Mongolia University, fully analyze the development situation at home and abroad, the tasks of higher education in the new era and the Ministry of Educations plan for higher education, and make IMUs 14th Five-Year Plan in a scientific way. Thirdly, in accordance with its own unique development strategy and focusing on the high quality development mode, IMU should integrate in its 14th Five-Year Plan the support from the Ministry of Education and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region government with Double First-Class Initiative, clarify its demands for support policies and measures for decentralization, management and service, and continue to promote the six major strategies and six main reforms.  

Zhang Jiwei, vice president of IMU, demanded at the meeting that all of IMUs departments, schools and offices conduct thorough surveys and discussions, that the statistics for the 13th Five-Year Plan be detailed and accurate and that there should be a very clear train of thought for the future development of IMU in its 14th Five-Year Plan. He also required that the Department of Development Planning, on the basis of some of the autonomous regions documents regarding the education development during the 13th-Five-Year-Plan period and the universitys plan for Double First-Class Initiative, draw up the outline for making the 14th Five-Year Plan and assign the tasks to the departments of the university.

Finally, Zhu Bingwen, secretary of the CPC Committee of IMU, pointed out that the compilation of the 14th Five-Year Plan of IMU has been officially launched and IMU should fully integrate general secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinpings expectations to make IMU a first-class university into the 14th Five-year Plan. He also said that focus should be on IMUs comprehensive strength improvement, cultural construction, talent training and faculty training and IMU should seize the opportunity to be supported by the Ministry of Education and the Inner Mongolia autonomous Region government, strengthen the partner cooperation with other universities and talent attraction, gear its development to serving the social and economic development of Inner Mongolia and accelerate the Double First-Class Initiative at IMU.
