The signing ceremony for the establishment of the enterprise-university cooperative laboratory by the Northeast Asia Languages Resources Center of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and IFLYTEK Co., Ltd. was held by the Northeast Asia Language Resources Center of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, IFLYTEK Co., LTD. and Northern Frontier Research Institute of Hohhot at the Academic Convention Center of IMU on December 30, 2020.
Xu Bonian, former member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, former vice chairman of the People’s Political Consultative Conference of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and former vice executive president of IMU, Zhu Bingwen, secretary of the CPC Committee of IMU, Li Chunlin, director of the Academy of Social Sciences of Inner Mongolia and Chimeddorji, former vice president of IMU, attended the ceremony and unveiled the plaque for the cooperative laboratory. Persons in charge and representatives of experts from Inner Mongolia Normal University, the Academy of Social Sciences of Inner Mongolia, Hohhot Minzu College and other sister universities, colleges and research institutes were present at the signing ceremony. Erhembayar, vice president of IMU, delivered a speech at the ceremony chaired by Dahurbayar, director of the Division of Social Sciences of IMU.

Leaders and representatives of the Big Data Administration of Inner Mongolia, the Ethnic Affairs Commission of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Center of Xincheng District of Hohhot, the Confederation of Big Data Industry of Inner Mongolia, Inner Mongolia Guoyun Data Co., Ltd., Inner Mongolia Menksoft Mongolian Culture Co., Ltd. and other functional departments, enterprises and institutional organizations were invited to attend the conference.
Erhembayar, vice president of IMU, introduced to the guests the achievements IMU had made in discipline building and studies in the preservation of ancient books and literature and expressed his wishes that the Northeastern Asia Language Resources Center accomplish well the mission of the Digital Platform of Northeastern Asia Language Resources, a special project of the government of the autonomous region and cooperate closely with IFLYTEK Co., Ltd. to strengthen capacity of IMU in the building of the disciplinary complex of ethnology and social service.

Prof. Nasun-urt, director of the Northeastern Asia Language Resources Center, remarked that their successful cooperation with IFLYTEK was a good beginning of the integration of enterprise, university, research and application and was also a new opportunity under the circumstances of the country’s strategy of big data. They would strive to make good use of the rare opportunity to open up new undertakings. In the future the cooperative laboratory would take advantage of the preferential policies and rare opportunities of the building of big data industrial infrastructure base of China in Inner Mongolia to implement national and regional level major projects in the orientation of artificial intelligence and smart cities and make contributions to the economic and social development of the autonomous region.
Mr. Liu Junhua, director of the AI Research Institute of IFLYTEK remarked that only the economic development and common prosperity of ethnic areas could ensure the lasting peace and prosperity of the society, and introduced the achievements IFLYTEK had made in voice appraisal, voice synthesis, etc. Mr. Liu Junhua said that IFLYTEK had already had very mature management model of the integration of enterprise, university and research. They would rely on the rich language resources and the accumulation of resources of the Northeastern Asia Language Resources Center, set up a cooperative project team with the world-class advanced smart voice language technology of IFLYTEK and the capacity of the Northern Frontier Research Institute in utilizing the partnership and resources to enhance researches of the technologies related to resource construction, language analysis and two-way interpretation of Mongolian in the near future to solve the bottleneck problems in Mongolian and other languages, and would expect support from the government of the autonomous region and IMU.
