To strengthen the exchange and cooperation between IMU and Northeast Normal University(NENU) and further promote the co-building of IMU by the Ministry of Education and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a team of 7 people including Liu Yichun, president of NENU, Ma Xiaoyan, deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of NENU and vice president of NENU, Bai Weichun, member of the CPC Committee of NENU and director of the Publicity Department of NENU’s CPC Committee, paid a visit to IMU for survey and exchange.

On December 29 afternoon, accompanied by Zhu Binwen, secretary of the CPC Committee of IMU, Liu Yichun and his team members visited the Reading Room for Ancient Mongolian Books in IMU Library and learned in detail the collection and preservation of the ancient books for Mongolian studies and the digitalization of the literature concerned.

On December 30, Liu Yichun and his team members visited IMU History Museum, the Building of Life Sciences and the State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Regulation and Breeding of Grassland Livestock(SKLRBGL). After the visit, the symposium on the work between two universities was held in No.120 meeting room of SKLRBGL.

At the symposium, Chen Guoqing, deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of IMU and president of the university, welcomed the team led by Liu Yichun to conduct their survey and exchange with IMU and promote the cooperation between IMU and NENU. He also expressed his thanks to NENU for its support and help to IMU, especially NENU sent Professor Wang Haitao to be member of the CPC Committee of IMU to support the “Double-First-Class” construction of IMU. Chen Guoqing said that although NENU is similar to IMU in size and staff number, it has 6 Class-A disciplines and 15 Class-B disciplines and has a lot in education philosophy and pattern and management of teaching and research that are worth learning by IMU. He hoped that with the existing cooperation and exchange, IMU and NNU will strengthen across the board the exchanges among their disciplines and departments and NENU will offer their valuable experience and professional guidance to IMU.

At the symposium, Liu Yichun, president of NENU, introduced NENU and talked about what he thought about the important status IMU has in the higher education of China. He thought highly of what IMU thinks about its role and characteristics of its disciplines. He hoped that IMU and NNU can further strengthen their joint planning in such disciplines as life sciences, join together to produce high-quality achievements and start their cooperation in the joint training of graduates to advance the training of talents for IMU.
