On December, 11, 2021, the 4th Forum on Microeconomic Data and Economic Theory Innovation was held through video conference at IMU. The forum was sponsored by the editorial board of Economic Research Journal and Data Confederation of Chinese Colleges and co-sponsored by the School of Economics and Management of IMU and the Center for Survey and Research of Time Use-a key research base for humanities and social sciences of colleges in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Present at the online conference were over 300 experts and scholars from such renowned colleges and research institutions at home and abroad as Peking University, Renmin University of China, Zhejiang University, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Shandong University and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.

The opening ceremony for the forum was chaired by Prof. Du Fenglian, dean of the School of Economics and Management of IMU. Liu Yongbin, research fellow and vice president of IMU and Jin Chengwu, director of the editorial board of Economic Research Journal delivered their speeches at the ceremony.
Liu Yongbin, vice president of IMU, extended his warm welcome to the experts and scholars present at the forum and introduced the development of IMU. He stressed that such micro-data as data for survey and research of time use and data for survey of family finance are significant for economic theories. He wished the success of the forum.

After the opening ceremony, Professor Li Han, executive deputy dean of the Research Institute of Economics and Management of SUFE chaired the keynote speeches. Those who delivered keynote speeches included Prof. Gan Li, director of Survey and Research Center for China Household Finance of SUFE, Prof. Zhang Junsen, dean of the School of Economics of Zhejiang University and Prof. Zhao Yaohui, leader of the project of “China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study” of Peking University. Their speeches were respectively about the choice of path for common prosperity, economic analysis of tiger parenting and income gap and inequality among the old in China. Besides, the experts at the conference conducted further discussions about the choice of policies narrowing the gap among Chinese, differences in parenting in Asian and American countries and driving forces for narrowing and widening the gap in income between the old in urban areas and those in rural areas.
On the afternoon of December, 11, 2021, the scholars read their papers and conducted discussions at 5 parallel sub-forums. Their paper and discussions are about public policies and family consumption, population migration and family behavior, employment, entrepreneurship and family production, mobility of different generations and family education, and times use and family property. 5 sub-forums were respectively chaired by Liu Ying, editor of the Editorial Board of Economic Research Journal, Chen Mingliang, associate senior editor of the Editorial Board of Economic Research Journal, Prof. Xue Jiliang, deputy dean of the School of Economics and Management of IMU, Hou Jianyun, associate professor of the School of Economics and Management and Prof. Xu Bing with SUFE. After the forum, the Editorial Board of Economic Research Journal will select those high-quality papers and let them directly go through the anonymous review.

Sub-forums
The 4th Forum on Microeconomic Data and Economic Theory Innovation is an academic banquet co-sponsored by the Center for Time Use Survey- a key research base for humanities and social sciences of colleges in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, after the center was approved to be established in 2021. The forum has got wide attendance and attention from the influential experts and institutions in the field. The forum also improves the influence of the School of Economics and Management of IMU in its time use data and that of the school’s disciplines like economics and management.
