On the morning of December 23, 2021, the 9th Inner Mongolia “Grassland Talents” High-Level Talents Cooperation and Exchange Conference & the Conference in the Main Venue of Ulanqab in the Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week in Hohhot, Baotou, Ordos and Ulanqab opened. Yang Dongwei, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and director general of the Organization Department of the CPC Committee of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, addressed the conference and declared the opening of the conference. Qi Batu, vice governor of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, was present at the conference and Bao Xianhua, vice governor of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, chaired the conference.
Liu Zhiyu, secretary of IMU CPC Committee and Wu Limin, deputy secretary of IMU CPC Committee and executive vice president of IMU, attended the conference.

At the conference, Wu Limin delivered a keynote speech titled “Bear in Mind the Instructions to Build a First-Class University with Unique Characteristics” , in which he sent invitations to high-level talents at home and abroad and sincerely welcomed the talents to join IMU to strive forward at IMU on a new journey and make new glorious achievements for it.

The agreement-signing ceremony for key talents was held at the conference. IMU and the team led by Zhao Dongyuan, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences who is with Fudan University, signed the agreement on the project of jointly building the innovation center for discipline of material chemistry. Wu Limin, deputy secretary of IMU CPC Committee and executive vice president of IMU and Prof. Zhang Fan with Fuan University, signed the agreement on behalf of two sides.

Respectively representing the winners of “Excellent Talent Award” and finalists of “Grassland Talents”, Liu Yongbin, vice president of IMU, Wang Wenbo, researcher with the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of IMU, accepted the awards conferred by Yang Weidong, director-general of the Organization Department of the CPC Committee of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Qi Batu, vice governor of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Present at the opening ceremony were over 300 attendees including 7 academicians form Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering like Hu Wenrui, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Li Wei, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and one foreign academician, representatives of universities, research institutions and enterprises which are from outside the autonomous region and cooperating with IMU and those who are in charge of government departments concerned, universities and leagues and cities in Inner Mongolia.
