With its theme "give priority to ecology and promote green development", the International Symposium on Grassland Ecology and Conservation was held at Inner Mongolia Uniersity in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Aug 21.
Sponsored by associations for science and technology -- in Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Northwest China's Gansu province and Qinghai province, as well as Inner Mongolia University -- the event invited academician Yin Weilun from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as 11 domestic experts and 11 international experts, to present special reports on relevant research into the ecology of grasslands.
At the symposium experts and academics -- specializing in grassland ecology and conservation at universities, provinces, regions, municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, as well as scientific and technological workers from the region -- also conducted academic exchanges and discussions and shared their research results in the field.
The conference is expected to promote academic work on grassland ecology and conservation, promote relevant scientific and technological innovation, as well as guide the development and the training of talent in the field.
