Freshmen of Inner Mongolia University showed off skills learned from their 14-day military training at a report-back ceremony held in the north campus of IMU in Hohhot, capital of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Aug 31.

Military education is a compulsory duty for Chinese university students. It is considered an opportunity for the students to get discipline, toughen up their bodies, as well as learn some basic military information.

At the ceremony, freshmen demonstrated their military skills and military boxing skills.

After the skills demonstration, freshmen lined up to form the numbers 1949, 2019, 70 and the Chinese characters of China and IMU -- to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
