On the morning of December 14, 2023, IMU and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Bureau of Statistics(IMARBS ) held the ceremony for the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement in No. 6 Meeting Room of the Academic Conference Center of IMU. According to the agreement, both sides will establish the strategic cooperation in all aspects and closely collaborate in research projects, education and training and talent cultivation to jointly provide strong scientific and technological support and talents for the reform and development of the statistics cause of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Cao Siyang, secretary of the CPC Group of IMARBS and director-general of the bureau and Wu Limin, president of IMU, attended and addressed the ceremony. Also present at the ceremony were Tian Xinru, Jing Yongbo and Wang Chuanjing, members of the CPC Group of IMARBS and deputy directors-general of the bureau and Du Xiaodong, vice president of IMU.

On behalf of IMU, Wu Limin expressed his warm welcome to Cao Siyang and his colleagues and introduced IMU’s educational philosophy, faculty and advantages in its disciplines. Wu said that the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement with IMARBS will further deepen the cooperation of both sides in all aspects. Wu pointed out that IMU and IMARBS can give full play to each other’s advantages and strive to make achievements in project research, education and training and talent cultivation to make greater contributions to the high-quality development of the statistical work and cultivation of statistic talents in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region(IMAR).

Cao Siyang said that both sides followed the principle of “Cooperation, Co-Development and Sharing” in their strategic cooperation. Cao pointed out that to boost the high-quality development of statistic work of IMAR, the bureau tried to expand its strategic cooperation with IMU, a prestigious university and produce the cooperative effect of “1+1＞2” in jointly promoting and serving the high-quality development of the economy of IMAR with the practical experiences of the bureau and IMU’s advantages in scientific research as a “high-end think tank”. Cao stressed that the bureau and the university will form a long-term cooperation mechanism to jointly contribute to better serving the economic development of IMAR by advancing the statistic modernization.
