The 19th CCF Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work and Social Computing was held in Hohhot from July 12 to 14. This conference is hosted by the China Computer Federation (CCF) and jointly organized by the CCF Technical Committee on Collaborative Computing and IMU. The theme of the conference is “Human-centered Collaborative Intelligence”. More than 300 experts, scholars, teachers and students from more than 100 universities, research institutions and enterprises engaged in theoretical and applied research on collaborative computing across the country participated in this grand event.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Huang Baoqi, Deputy Dean of the College of Computer Science (College of Software) and Co-Chair of the Conference Program Committee at IMU. Prof. Zhou Jiantao, Vice President of IMU and Chair of the Conference, delivered a speech. Prof. Zhou extended a warm welcome to all participating experts and scholars on behalf of IMU and expressed gratitude to the CCF and the CCF Technical Committee on Collaborative Computing for their strong support. She noted that this conference coincides with the fifth anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s inspection of IMU, which is of special significance. IMU will do its best to provide excellent services to ensure the smooth running of the conference. She also said that the conference aims to provide an academic exchange and achievement display platform for all sectors of industry, academia and research at home and abroad, and promote the development of the field of collaborative work and social computing, and hoped that participants could engage in sincere and pragmatic exchanges through this conference.
Lu Tun, Secretary-General of the CCF Technical Committee on Collaborative Computing from Fudan University, and Shi Meilin, recipient of the CCF Lifetime Achievement Award in Collaborative Computing from Tsinghua University, respectively delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the conference. Sun Hailong, Co-Chair of the Conference Program Committee from Beihang University, introduced the conference paper submission situation.
The conference invited six well-known scholars including national-level talents and IEEE/ACM Fellows to give keynote reports. Prof. Liu Yunhao from Tsinghua University presented a keynote report titled “Everything Connected and Everything Lives”; Researcher Fellow Chen Yiqiang from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences presented a keynote report titled “Model Web: A New Computing Paradigm for Federated Collaboration of Large and Small Models”; Prof. Ren Lei from Beihang University presented a keynote report titled “Industrial Large Models: Building a New Intelligent Base for Industrial Internet”; Prof. Zhang Yongdong from the University of Science and Technology of China presented a keynote report titled “Exploration and Practice of Safe and Trustworthy Applications of Large Models”; Prof. Jin Yaochu from Westlake University presented a keynote report titled “Evolutionary Developmental Swarm Intelligence”; Prof. Zhou Minghui from Peking University presented a keynote report titled “Open Source Digital Sociology – Open Source Measurement and Intelligent Support”. These six keynote reports presentations were rich in content, with outstanding academic foresight and lively discussions on the venue, fully demonstrating the cutting-edge research and development directions in the fields of collaborative computing and social computing.
The conference also hosted ten major specialized forums, including the Excellent Young Scholars Forum, Top Conferences and Journals Exchange Forum, “Swarm Intelligence Collaborative Computing” Forum, “Large Model Social Simulation” Forum, “Big Data Smart Education” Forum, “Frontier Technologies in Collaborative Service Computing” Forum, “Intelligent Scheduling Research on Low-carbon Traffic Flow System with Dual-network Balance” Forum, “Theory and Method of Multi-AI Capability Combination Optimization in an Open Dynamic Environment” Forum, “Intelligent Operation and Collaborative Decision-making of Equipment Manufacturing Enterprises” Forum and the finals of the Fifth Collaborative Intelligence Big Data Competition, sharing and exchanging the latest achievements in theoretical models, core algorithms, key technologies, and platform applications related to CSCW and social computing.
The successful hosting of this conference has played a significant role in promoting the development of computer-related disciplines of IMU, allowing domestic and international experts to gain insight into the achievements made by IMU in the fields of collaborative and social computing, thus promoting effect on IMU’s promotion of “Double First-Class” Initiative.
