The kick-off meeting of the major project on strategic research and consultation of the Chinese Academy of Engineering - "Research on the Integrated Development Strategy of Artificial Intelligence and the Real Economy in Inner Mongolia" was held in Beijin

On November 5th, the kick-off meeting of the major project on strategic research and consultation of the Chinese Academy of Engineering - "Research on the Integrated Development Strategy of Artificial Intelligence and the Real Economy in Inner Mongolia" was held in Beijing.


Attending the meeting were academicians Liao Xiangke, Zheng Weimin, and Nima Zhaxi of the CAE, Jiang Baolin, the Director of the Strategic Center of the Science and Technology Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Prof. Gao Guanglai and Liu Quansheng, the Deputy Director (in charge of the work) of the Science and Technology Department of our school, attended the meeting. More than 30 experts from domestic universities and enterprises such as Tsinghua University, National University of Defense Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Inner Mongolia University, Tibet University, Beijing Normal University, and Kylin Software Co., Ltd. participated in the meeting.


The project "Research on the Integrated Development Strategy of Artificial Intelligence and the Real Economy in Inner Mongolia" aims to promote the in-depth integration of artificial intelligence technology and the real economy in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Focusing on key fields such as energy, agriculture and animal husbandry, manufacturing, ecological environment protection and education, it will conduct application scenario exploration, top-level strategic design, and technological innovation to provide technical support and innovative paths for the high-quality development of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.


At the kick-off meeting, Jiang Baolin delivered a speech on behalf of the Science and Technology Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, stating that the kick-off of this project is an important opportunity to promote the transformation and upgrading of the key industries in the autonomous region, and it is also a new engine for Inner Mongolia to move towards high-quality development, marking a crucial step for the autonomous region in the integrated development of artificial intelligence and the real economy.


Prof. Feilong from the College of Computer Science (College of Software), College of Artificial Intelligence of our school gave a detailed report on the project. From the perspective of the integration of artificial intelligence technology and the real economy, he elaborated on the role that the project will play in promoting the development of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in key fields such as energy, agriculture and animal husbandry, manufacturing, and it will provide strong support for the high-quality development and digital transformation of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.


During the discussion session of the meeting, the three academicians and expert representatives had in-depth discussions on the overall ideas, implementation paths of the project on the integration of artificial intelligence and the real economy in the autonomous region. They fully affirmed the importance and innovativeness of the project and pointed out the key directions in terms of project research and industrial implementation, putting forward constructive suggestions for the subsequent progress of the project.


Finally, Academician Nima Zhaxi, the project leader, gave an important speech. He pointed out that relying on artificial intelligence to empower the real economy will greatly promote the innovative development of characteristic industries such as green computing power, energy, and agriculture and animal husbandry in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. He encouraged participating units to collaborate closely, fully utilizing their respective technological advantages to jointly advance frontier explorations and deep integration in the field of artificial intelligence within the autonomous region.
