Our university held a mobilization and training meeting for the application of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2025

To further improve the quality of applications for the National Natural Science Foundation (NNSF) and to support the high-quality connotative development of our university, on the morning of November 21st, our university organized a mobilization and training meeting for NNSF applications in 2025 at the Room 8 of Academic Conference Center in Saihan Campus. Vice President Liu Yongbin attended the meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department, Liu Quansheng. Over 200 participants attended the meeting, including heads of various science and engineering units, science fund managers, principals of ongoing scientific fund projects, prospective applicants, and various high-level talents introduced to the university in recent years.


At the meeting, Liu Yongbin emphasized the importance of NNSF projects to the university's scientific innovation and the professional development of researchers. He also affirmed the achievements of our university's NNSF projects in 2024 and put forward requirements for the 2025 NNSF application: First, select topics accurately; second, strengthen teamwork and collaborative innovation; third, pay attention to details and improve the quality of applications; fourth, optimize services and create a favorable scientific research environment.


A former staff member of the NNSF Committee gave a report on "Applying for Scientific Fund Projects". Prof. Zheng Binglian from the School of Life Sciences at Fudan University delivered a related presentation, focusing on the significance of the NNSF, key points in preparation and writing of fund applications, among other content, providing training for attending researchers. Dean Wang Shubin of the School of Electronic Information Engineering shared the school's project application approval status over the past five years from the perspective of both an applicant and a school manager, and proposed new plans for work in 2025. Director Yue Liqing of the Project Management Division of the Science and Technology Department reported on the funding situation of NNSF applications in 2024, reforms in the NNSF, and the approval status of our university's 2024 NNSF applications, as well as deployed arrangements for our university's 2025 NNSF application work.


In his concluding remarks, Liu Quansheng required that all relevant colleges should make careful plans, strengthen organizational guidance, provide training and guidance to applicants through multiple channels, effectively improve the quality of writing application documents, and strive to achieve new highs in the funding of NNSF projects in 2025 on the basis of new breakthroughs in 2024, so as to provide strong technological support for the implementation of the "Five Major Tasks" of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the construction of "Double First-Class" by our university.
