Recently, Professor Chu Haibin’s research team from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of our university published a research paper in the internationally renowned journal Science Advances, titled:
“Pd@PdBOₓ heterostructure with strong electronic interaction to promote C─H bond activation for glycerol oxidation reaction.”

This study successfully addresses the long-standing challenges in glycerol oxidation, particularly the difficulty in activating C–H bonds and the low yield of high-value-added products, by constructing a Pd@PdBOₓ heterostructure with strong electronic interactions.
Dr. Li Zhenyu and Dr. Jiang Kunhong from Inner Mongolia University are co-first authors of the paper. Inner Mongolia University is listed as the first completing institution. The co-corresponding authors include:
Professor Chu Haibin (Inner Mongolia University)
Professor Wu Yimin (University of Waterloo, Canada)
Dr. Zhang Bin (Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences)
Associate Professor Ma Xuelu (China University of Mining and Technology)
Professor Chu Haibin’s team has long been engaged in research on the selective oxidation of glycerol to produce high-value chemicals, and has achieved a series of significant results in this field. The present study was supported by:
