Professor Ma Yuzhu from Inner Mongolia University Awarded "Rising Scientist" by Chemical Synthesis

Recently, the international academic journal Chemical Synthesis announced the results of its 2025 “Rising Scientist” Award, and Professor Ma Yuzhu from the Institute of Energy and Materials Chemistry of Inner Mongolia University was selected for his systematic research contributions in the field of nanomaterials and catalysis. The award is organized by the journal’s editorial board and reviewed by 230 renowned experts and scholars from China and abroad.

Professor Ma has long been dedicated to the design of porous materials and nanoreactors, and has pioneered theoretical models such as:

  • “Droplet interface assembly”, and

  • “Multi-chamber confined nanoreactors”

He has systematically investigated the structure–activity relationships between microstructures and catalytic performance, providing novel insights for energy catalysis and green chemistry. His work has been published in top-tier journals such as:

  • Nature Nanotechnology

  • Nature Reviews Chemistry

  • Nature Synthesis

To date, he has authored over 30 academic papers.

In terms of research leadership, Professor Ma has:

  • Led several major scientific projects      including National Natural Science Foundation of China (General      Program) and Inner Mongolia “Scientific Breakthrough” initiative

  • Promoted the translation of basic      research into applied technologies

He has also been selected for multiple high-level talent programs, including:

  • Ministry of Education “Young      Changjiang Scholars”

  • Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region      “Young Top Talent”
