IMU-developed Mongolian editing system released

Researched and developed by a team from Inner Mongolia University, the Mongolian Editor for Plain Text V6.0 and the Mongolian editor for PDF1.2 were released in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Aug 16.

According to local media reports, Mongolian Editor is a multi-functional software based on Mongolian text proofreading.

Since 2006, the IMU's research team has been utilizing advanced technologies to improve the performance and efficiency of the products, according to the various requirements needed for the promotion and use of Mongolian language and its characters.

At present, the newly released system not only has its main functions of text error detections and error corrections, but also integrates functions for common coding conversions, Latin transfers and term sorting.

In addition, there are now four different versions available for plain text, PDF, internet users and batch processing.

The system is widely used in the news publishing industry, for teaching and research institutions, companies and institutions and government departments.

The release of new products is expected to further promote the digitization, networking, informationization and standardization of the Mongolian language and its characters.
