On the morning of January 10th, 2017, unveiling ceremony of Ecology and Environment of IMU & Jitong Forum on Frontiers in Ecology and Environment was held at the meeting room 8 in Academy Conference Center. Among those attending the meeting were Fang jingyun, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sheng lianxi, deputy director of the ministry of Environment science and engineering specialty in colleges and universities teaching steering committee, officials from departments of education, technology, Environmental protection, Agriculture and Husbandry, meteorological agency, representatives from grassland station of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Inner Mongolia Normal University, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, Inner Mongolia University of Technology, Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics, M.GRASS Group as well as experts in ecological and environmental fields. Zhu bingwen, Secretary of Party Committee of IMU, President Chen guoqing and other chiefs of IMU. The meeting was presided over by Li xiaochun, Secretary of Party General Branch of school of Ecology and Environment.

Deputy president Zhao Ji read the documentation on the establishment of the school of Ecology and Environment. To meet the needs of discipline construction of IMU, the School of Ecology and Environment was set up after full investigation and argumentation. IMU decided to integrate the school of Environment and Resources and the Department of Ecology of School of Life sciences into the School of Ecology and Environment. At the same time, former institutions were deregulated.

Fang jingyun, Shenglianxi, Zhu bingwen, Chen junjie( director of Department of Higher Education in Inner Mongolia) attended the unveiling ceremony and uncovered the board for the college.

Director Chen junjie delivered a speech on behalf of the Education Department of Inner Mongolia, Dean Li yonghong also made an important statement as well.

In the end, president Chen Guoqing delivered a speech. He said, “in order to promote the ecological conservation, set up the ecological shield, and the strategic development of building beautiful scenery in the north region, we must uphold new laws of ecology and environmental science development, integrate the related resources and work to make a superb discipline. On this very note, we decided to establish the school of Ecology and Environment.” President Chen proposed the highly requests to the school’s discipline building, teaching resource, discipline construction, building of teaching staff and talent cultivation.

After the unveiling ceremony, Jitong Forum was convened as scheduled. Fang jingyun gave a talk on Emissions and Global Warming. Professor Sheng Xilian talked about the progresses and changes in ecology from the perspective of discipline development.
