While inspecting IMU, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee pointed out that “energy should be put into the collection, reorganization and protection of the old Mongolian books and efforts made to tap the philosophical connotation of national unity in the books to encourage the people of different ethnic groups to unite together and seek a sharing prosperity and development.” The Secret History of Mongolians is a well-known historical and literary work and one intangible cultural heritage of the world which is recognized by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It is also a great historical work that describes the exchanges among different ethnic groups in the history of China and provides the historical materials and ancient written records for deepening the education for national unity and solidifying the awareness of Chinese Nation Community. We will bear in mind Xi Jinping’s instructions given at IMU to pass down and carry forward the valuable Chinese traditional culture, set a solid foundation for different ethnic groups to unite together and work hard for a common prosperity and protect the common spiritual Eden of the ethnic groups in China.
