Cross-disciplinary Seminar of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology--the 2nd Academic and Party Construction Working Conference of the Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Inner Mongolia was held at IMU on December 12, 2020. The conference was endorsed by the Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Inner Mongolia and hosted by the Inner Mongolia Key Laboratory for Molecular Regulation of the Cell of the School of Life Sciences of IMU. The conference was held in the form of reports at the conference to discuss hot spots and frontier issues in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology, seek breakthrough points in cross-disciplinary fields, and explore fundamental theories and prospects of application of life sciences.

Liu Weijiang, director of the Academic Division of the Association for Science and Technology of Inner Mongolia, Prof. Zhang Deqing, instructor of the Party Construction Office of Social Organizations of Inner Mongolia, Prof. Niu Yiding, director of the Division of Science and Technology of IMU, Prof. Wang Xiao, vice dean of the School of Life Sciences of IMU, Prof. Nasun-buhe and Assoc Prof. Liu Pengxia from the School of Life Sciences of IMU and more than 100 members of the Society attended the academic report conference.
On behalf of the Association for Science and Technology of Inner Mongolia, Liu Weijiang delivered a speech in which he emphasized the importance of learning how to give full play to the role of academic exchanges as the running water of the headstream, active devotion to the activities of developing Inner Mongolia by relying on science and technology and Innovation China, making use of the advantages of scientific and technological workers and serving the improvement of scientific literacy of the people; he pointed out the necessity to keep deepening the reform and enhancing individual capacities. He confirmed that the Association would, as always, keep track of and support the Laboratory in launching academic exchanges, enlivening academic thinking and developing continuously. Prof. Wang Xiao, vice dean of the School of Life Sciences of IMU, gave a speech on behalf of the School in which he extended welcome to the leaders and experts present at the conference and gave an introduction to the basic situation and achievements in the construction of the Laboratory. Prof. Xing Wanjin, the secretary general of the Society, summarized the key work of the Society in science popularization, scientific research and teaching in 2020. Prof. Zhang Deqing, instructor of the Party Construction Office of Social Organizations of Inner Mongolia, gave a report on Party construction and conveyed the latest spirit of Party construction for societies entitled Remain True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep Our Mission Firmly in Mind--Interpretation of the 5th Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
Prof. Bao Cecen, Prof. Hada and Assoc Prof. Li Guanhua from IMU, Prof. Liu Huirong from Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, Prof. Lu Ping from Inner Mongolia Normal University and Doctor Xu Yanan from Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities gave brilliant academic reports on the methylation of the DNA of embryonic stem cells, mechanism of resistance of protein R, functions of G-quadruplex of gene coding region, biochemistry of myxo-spore, the synthesis pathway of swainonine and the anti-degradation of cell walls.
