Recently the Royal Society of Chemistry of UK made a statistics of the citations of the theses published in the over 40 journals under its administration and announced the list of top 1% frequency of citations worldwide in 2019 from the theses published in 2017 and 2018, in which Prof. Hu Ming from the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of IMU is listed among the top 1% most cited Chinese authors in journals of inorganic chemistry. This is the first time for a faculty member of IMU to be selected into the list, indicating that the rapid development of the discipline of chemistry of IMU in recent years has been noticed and recognized by both domestic and foreign counterparts.
The journals under the administration of the Royal Society of Chemistry of UK are divided in accordance with the broad categories, and the rating is made in accordance with the time of citations of the theses in each of the categories; theses with corresponding authors from China are selected from the top 1% theses worldwide, and subsequently the top 1% most cited Chinese authors are selected according to the information of the corresponding authors.

Hu MIng, PhD, professor from the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering og IMU, PhD adviser. He has been in charge of 2 projects sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 projects sponsored by the Natural Science Foundation of Inner Mongolia, 1 project sponsored by Key Scientific and Technological Program of the Department of Science and Technology of Inner Mongolia, 1 project sponsored by Key Scientific and Technological Program of Institutions of Higher Learning of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and has published more than 20 theses as corresponding author in international journals of chemistry including Dalton Transactions, CrystEngComm and Applied Organometallic Chemistry, one of which was listed among the top 1% most cited theses in ESI collection for 2020. Prof. Hu Ming has made considerable contribution in the field of researches of functional complexes used as fluorescent probes and made achievements with academic influence in researches of luminescent coordination polymers used as fluorescent probes for metal ions, organic small molecules, explosives and drugs.
