On May 26, 2023, 13 experts headed by Li Lin, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), president of the executive board of CSBMB for 2023, came to IMU for inspection and exchange.
On the morning of May 26, 2023, Li Lin, academician of CAS, and other experts, inspected the State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Regulation and Breeding of Grassland Livestock(SKLRRBGL) and had a symposium of exchange with Wu Limin, president of IMU, Liu Yongbin, vice president of IMU and heads of the departments and schools concerned.
Meeting
At the symposium, Wu Limin introduced the achievements made by IMU in its efforts to further boost “Double-First” construction and problems faced by the university. Wu hoped that the experts and scholars from CSBMB could help the university find out its problems and offer advice and guidance for the building and development of IMU, esp. the building and development of the discipline of biology as a first-class discipline so as to help the “Double-First Class ” building of IMU.
Hu Wei, dean of the School of Life Sciences of IMU and director of SKLRRBGL, introduced the development of the discipline of biology, a first-class discipline of IMU, in recent years.
Inspection
Li Lin suggested that IMU should aim at the strategic needs of the country and the autonomous region, combine the development of the discipline with the regional industrial chain, give full play to the existing advantages of the discipline, strengthen the development of the discipline with its own characteristics, adhere to the pre-decided orientation of the discipline, make concerted efforts and get down to do research and make more contributions to the social and economic development. The other experts gave their specific advice on attracting high-level talents, building the discipline with its own characteristics and strengthening the cooperation and exchanges.
On the afternoon of May 26, 2023, the 10th Plenary Meeting of the 12th Executive Board of CSBMB was held at No. 4 Meeting Room of the Academic Center of IMU.
Meeting
Liu Zhiyu, secretary of IMU CPC Committee, addressed the meeting. He welcomed the experts and introduced the development of the university. He hoped that the experts could support the building and development of IMU as usual and give guiding advice to the university on academic exchange, discipline building, recommendation of talents and service for the strategy of innovation-driven development and the scientific decision making of the autonomous region CPC committee and government to help the discipline of life sciences with its development and provide intelligent support for the university’s “Double-First Class” building and co-building of IMU by the autonomous region government and the Ministry of Education of the country.
The heads of the Office of Party & Administration Council, the Division of Development and Planning, the Division of Science & Technology and the School of Life Sciences participated in the above-mentioned activities.
