On September 4, 2023, the National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences (NOPSS) released the list of its annual projects and the list of projects for the young researchers. The lists include 397 key projects, 3185 ordinary projects and 1214 projects for the young researchers. IMU has 21 projects that are to be supported by NOPSS, including 1 key project, 15 ordinary projects and 5 projects for the young researchers. According to the statistics, IMU ranks 62nd among 554 universities whose projects are to be supported by NOPSS in terms of the number of projects that will be supported by NOPSS. The number of IMU’s annual projects and projects for the young researchers supported by NOPSS and its ranking has reached a new high in 2023.
In 2023, the number of IMU’s annual projects and projects for the young researchers which are to be supported by NOPSS and the supporting fund for these projects have increased respectively by 23.8% and 11.5% in comparison with the year of 2022. Of the supported projects, the ordinary projects and projects for the young researchers have gone up hugely, which indicates that in recent years the introduction and cultivation of high-level talents of social sciences and implementation of high-level research of philosophy and social sciences have been steadily improved, i.e. the quality and quantity of the supported projects of IMU have been improving; the competition of its projects around the country has been enhancing and the distribution of the categories of its supported projects has been more and more reasonable.
IMU has endeavored to study and implement the spirit of the 20th Congress of the CPC, Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in a New Era and especially the spirit of the addresses and instructions given by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee respectively to Inner Mongolia and IMU, organized, guided and encouraged its researchers to plan research projects while following closely forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and focusing on putting into effect “Five Tasks” and building Inner Mongolia into a model autonomous region. IMU is sparing no efforts to carry out national scientific and technological research tasks, strengthen the organized research and make high-quality achievements of philosophy and social sciences to contribute to the “Double-First-Class” development of IMU.
In the future, IMU will strengthen the coordination among different departments concerned, enhance the team spirit of its researchers, encourage the improvement on collaborative innovation and team research to make more achievements in getting support for its projects from NOPSS, better its ability to undertake the important research tasks, improve its power to develop high-level research results to strongly support and boost the high-quality development of research of philosophy and social sciences of IMU.
