From August 12 to 16, 2023, the High-Level Forum on Materials Science and Technology was held in Hulunbuir City. The forum was hosted by the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the College of Energy Materials and Chemistry of IMU and co-sponsored by the Department of Materials Science of Fudan University.

To implement the development philosophy of combination of “education, science and technology and talents”, form a new development pattern and serve the country’s strategy and regional development, the forum invited the renowned experts and scholars in the fields of metallic materials, inorganic nonmetallic materials and organic polymer materials to the forum to exchange the latest research results in materials science and technology and boost the development of the discipline of materials. The theme of the forum concerns creation of advanced materials, energy and information materials and processing and assembling of materials.

Present at the forum were over 150 pundits in the field of materials science including such 5 academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences as Liu Yunqi, Chen Xuesi, Liu Changsheng, Zhu Meifang and Gu Ning and over 80 scholars with Changjiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education and winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Prof. Wu Limin, president of IMU, acted as the chairman of the forum and delivered an opening address. Prof. Yu Yanlei with Fudan University acted as the secretary general of the forum and Liu Jian, dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, acted as deputy secretary general of the forum.

The experts and scholars present at the forum thought highly of the forum. The forum plays a positive role in strengthening the exchange and cooperation of IMU with the renowned experts and scholars in the field of materials science and boosting the development of the discipline of materials science and engineering of IMU.
