From May 13th to 15th, 2024, IMU Party Committee member and Vice President Liu Yongbin led a delegation to Qingdao Agricultural University and China Agricultural University for research and exchange. The heads of the Science and Technology Department, the Technology Transfer Center, the School of Life Sciences, as well as relevant key business personnel from IMU accompanied the research.

At Qingdao Agricultural University, Liu Yongbin and his delegation held a symposium with the Secretary of the Party Committee Pan Jun, President Zhao Jinshan, Vice President Sun Qingjie, and heads of relevant departments. Pan Jun warmly welcomed the arrival of Liu Yongbin and his delegation, and introduced the basic situation of Qingdao Agricultural University. Zhao Jinshan gave a detailed introduction to the QAU’s scientific and technological innovation work in recent years. Liu Yongbin introduced the progress and achievements of IMU's scientific and technological work in recent years and expressed the hope that both sides would further strengthen exchanges, deepen scientific research cooperation, and jointly promote the high-quality development of both universities.

Liu Yongbin and his delegation also held a special symposium with the heads of the Science and Technology Department and Life Science College of Qingdao Agricultural University. President Zhao Jinshan and Vice President Sun Qingjie attended the meeting. They listened to the introduction of the Qingdao Agricultural University's service to rural revitalization by the Science and Technology Department of QAU, and the management and operation mechanism of the Jiaozhou Park by the Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Service Center. The participants discussed and exchanged views on the entity operationalization of scientific research institutions, construction and management of bases, the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and scientific research services and management. They also visited the Agricultural Machinery Culture Corridor, the Special Food Research Institute, the College of Grassland Science, and the Analytical Testing Center at Qingdao Agricultural University.

At China Agricultural University, Liu Yongbin and his delegation held a symposium and exchange with Tian Jianhui, the Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of China Agricultural University, as well as heads of the Institute of Science and Technology Development, the Social Service Department, and the Model Animal Major Facility Construction Office. Tian Jianhui introduced the work of China Agricultural University in scientific and technological innovation and the achievements of social service reform. Liu Yongbin explained the focus of this research trip and expressed the desire to learn from China Agricultural University's valuable experience in the reorganization of national key laboratories, research base construction, transformation mechanism of scientific and technological achievements, and the incentives for scientific research personnel. He looked forward to further strengthening bilateral scientific and technological cooperation in the future, jointly undertaking major scientific and technological tasks, and promoting more innovative achievements to be implemented in Inner Mongolia.

      Liu Yongbin and his delegation conducted on-site inspections of the National Key Laboratory of Livestock Biobreeding at China Agricultural University, where they listened to the introduction about the construction and operation of the key laboratory from Prof. Zhao Yaofeng, the director of the laboratory. They also visited the Zhuozhou Experimental Farm of China Agricultural University to inspect the National Major Scientific and Technological Infrastructure for Phenotype and Genetics of Model Animals (Pigs).
