In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 40th Teachers' Day,vigorously promote the spirit of educators, foster a strong atmosphere in society that respects teachers and values education, and to inspire a wide range of teachers and education workers to be confident, self-reliant, and strive for excellence, making greater contributions to the construction of a strong country and the great cause of national rejuvenation, the Ministry of Education has conducted the 2024 National Education System Advanced Collectives and Individuals Selection Activity. Recently, the results of the selection were announced, and IMU's Prof. Chen Shufeng was honored with the title of "National Outstanding Teacher."
Chen Shufeng, a professor at the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of IMU, a doctoral supervisor, a senior member of the Chinese Chemical Society, and an editorial board member of the journal of IMU (natural science edition).
He once served as the vice dean of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of IMU.Currently, he also serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the 14th People's Congress of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the deputy chairman of the Jiu San Society of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
In 2008, after obtaining his doctoral degree from Peking University, Chen Shufeng returned to IMU to engage in teaching and scientific research. For a long time, he has been deeply rooted in the western region, facing the major needs of the "five major tasks" and the development of regional characteristic resource industries in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and focusing on the advantageous resources and key industries of the autonomous region, he is mainly engaged in organic synthesis chemistry, especially fine chemicals and drug precursor molecular design and synthesis. And basic research on the high-value utilization of coal-based chemicals has developed new methods for the synthesis and transformation of ferrocene-allene compounds and the efficient construction of spiro compounds through tandem dearomatization of coal-based aromatic compounds, and has achieved outstanding research results in the above fields.
Chen Shufeng has successively won the third prize of the 15th Fok Ying Tung Young Teachers Award, the second prize of the Natural Science Award of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (as the first completer), the 10th Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Youth Science and Technology Award, the first Inner Mongolia University Wukeli Young Teachers Award, and the 10th IMU President Encouragement Award for Learning. He was selected for the first batch of the "Young Scientific and Technological Talents" program of higher education institutions in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the "Grassland Talents" project, and the first-level candidate of the "New Century 321 Talent Project" of the autonomous region, and received funding from the Distinguished Youth Fund of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. As the team leader, he led the efficient and accurate synthesis team of functional molecules to be successfully selected into the "Innovation Team Development Plan" of the autonomous region and was selected into the "Grassland Talents" innovation team of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Prof. Chen Shufeng has presided over more than 20 national and provincial-ministerial level scientific research projects, published over 70 academic papers in top international journals such as Nat. Commun., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., ACS Catal., Org. Lett., and obtained 4 authorized national invention patents. As a major participant, he successfully approved the national virtual simulation experimental teaching project of "Virtual Simulation Comprehensive Training for Efficient and Clean Utilization of Coal", which is the first important national-level achievement obtained in the construction of first-class disciplines of IMU.
