Over 90 students from 16 countries who won China Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarships recently took in the delights of Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to Inner Mongolia University (IMU) officials.

Sponsored by the CSC and supervised by the IMU, the event on Oct 19-20 was a part of "Experiencing China" activities.

Organizers said these aim to show to overseas students the culture, developing modern enterprises and Inner Mongolia's achievements in its economy, culture and social developments.

During the visit, the students visited a milk production line of major dairy producer Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group.

They also visited Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the Kangbashi New Area in Ordos, the Ordos Museum and Erdos Cashmere Group. In addition, they also had talks with students in Ordos.

Officials said that through the activity, the international students not only got to know about current business conditions and prospects for the development of China's modern companies -- but also to more deeply understand Inner Mongolia's cultural dimensions.

They also witnessed some of the achievements of Inner Mongolia in many fields -- such economics and social and cultural development -- at the time of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
