Mongolian music concert hosted at IMU

A renowned music band -- Anda Union performed at Inner Mongolia University (IMU) in Hohhot, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Nov 13, singing old folk songs of the autonomous region and playing indigenous instruments, such as the morin khuur (horse-head fiddle).

It was the main event of the Second Inner Mongolia Universities’ Cultural and Art Activities Month, attracting a range of participants including, officials from the school’s departments, teachers and students.

At the concert, the members of the band also performed traditional khoomei, or throat-singing.

According to IMU officials, over the last 16 years, the band has performed in over 30 countries, introducing the culture of Inner Mongolia to audiences at college campuses and concerts at theaters.
