IMU contributes to international education exchanges

A delegation from Inner Mongolia University in Hohhot, capital of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, attended the Belt and Road International Forum on Education and the founding meeting for the Belt and Road Education Committee held at Fudan University in Shanghai on Dec 21-23.

IMU officials said that at the forum on Dec 21 there were discussions on Belt and Road education international exchanges and cooperation -- and the path towards the globalization of China’s education was explored.

Attending were representatives from higher education, elementary education and vocational education institutions.

Erhimbayar, the vice-president of IMU, as a representative of higher education institutions, made a keynote speech.

Entitled "IMU’s international exchange and cooperation under the background of implementing Belt and Road Initiative ", the speech shared the role and thinking of IMU in contributing towards the implementation of the national Belt and Road Imitative.

Officials said the Belt and Road Education Committee of the China Education Association for International Exchange was founded at Fudan University on Dec 22.

It aims to promote the globalization of China's education and further enhance China's international influence and leading force in education.

Officials said IMU’s Erhimbayar was elected as the committee’s vice director.

They said the committee will be committed to promoting the international exchange of education information sharing among its members.

It will aim to complement each other member's advantages, coordinate actions and better promote and expand people-to-people exchanges.

Other aims will be to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in education among members, carry out the joint training of talent, promote the construction of Belt and Road education community -- and jointly improve its members' international level of education and capacity for servicing the construction of Belt and Road Initiative.

In addition, the committee will also strive to integrate the resources advantages of disciplines and partners at various levels at home and abroad.

This will be in areas such as higher education, vocational education and elementary education.

The aim is to form a platform for promoting international cooperation in Belt and Road education, contribute to the development of world education and develop and promote the positive interaction of education.
